Dear SMIA registered users,

The SMIA website was launched in 2004 as a bold initiative to add some standardisation to the then chaotic new technology of cameras in mobile phones.

Since then, we have seen massive growth in this market and the transition to more complex cameras, including autofocus, zoom, reflowable cameras, new interfaces and more. We now have a large, competent industry and the standard is looking a little limited in scope.
